Spice

SPICE By Thai Select

Spice is a great neighborhood spot in a funky little mini-strip of popular local joints. Next door to Proper and Fixture on Magnolia SPICE is a friendly, nicely decorated little restaurant featuring fresh Thai dishes. Walking distance from downtown and the Fairmount neighborhoods, this triplex of businesses could be a nice evening destination. UBER is always close by as drivers circulate the nearby hotels.

Although most of the dining & entertainment activity on Magnolia is centered on the stretch between 8th Avenue and Hemphill, the blocks to the east of Hemphill now have a solid anchor of dining choices with these three legit choices.

Service at SPICE is quick and friendly and there’s ample parking along the street and in a lot behind the building.

Expected appetizers include Chicken Satay, Pot Stickers, Egg Rolls & Crab Rangoons – all good and reasonably priced. The Thai Beef Jerky (Neua Dhat Diow) is unusual and delicious. Also on the menu are vegetarian dishes, noodles, and “Spice Specialties.”  King Prawn Chu Chee is a light and tasty shrimp entree with stir-fried vegetables on a bed of peanutty chili paste. Entrees are in the $14 – $25 range, and a variety of lunch specials are offered for $9.95 between 11:00 and 2:30.

Full SPICE Menu is HERE

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner throughout the afternoon. The YELP reviews are good, and all of our visits have been great.
